About Me

Hey, I’m Julie – the voice of this blog.

When I’m not writing, I’m probably reading about current events or hanging out at one of my favorite places. I also enjoy making pottery, traveling somewhere I’ve never been, going to a concert, or spending an evening talking with friends or family over a cup of coffee or strawberry margarita.

I value honesty, trust, loyalty and people who can make me laugh. I’m a fan of driving, excessive amounts of salt, and chick lit. I read Entertainment Weekly, People Magazine, The Orlando Sentinel, Reality Blurred and a plethora of books.

In no particular order, here are some of my favorite things: movie theatres, newspapers and magazines, Times Square, Express, Borders, romantic dramas, true crime stories, American Idol, coffee, Nicholas Sparks books, travel, cheese, discussion and debate, Alex Band, Taylor Swift, Regal Cinemas, The Big Bang Theory, Colorado Fondue, warm nights, good friends and Shirley Temples.

I have a B.A. in Communications and Journalism from Stetson University and am working on an M.A. in Mass Communications at the University of Central Florida.

Check out my blogs and articles by other journalists that I’ve posted on the right side of this page.

  8. I love hearing from adults living with spina bifida. It’s such an inspiration for me and it really helps me keep a long-term focus for my daughter, Madi. Thanks for writing!

  9. I wish all would realize … we are all handicap/disabled just in different ways physically , mental, inward or outward no one is perfect. Let us care and love each other ,do whatever we can possibly do to make life worth living for each other. Life is to short to take even a minute for granted God is waiting and watching.
